Constitution day, Asoj 3

Constitution day, Asoj 3

We Nepalese are celebrating 3rd year of our constitution 2072. Being a Nepali citizen, I have some reservations about this constitution though I accepted it as my constitution. While collecting views from general public I was against the federalism and secularism as well as reservation. On the one hand our constitution provides the equality to all but at the moment there is the concept of reservation. In the same way, the qualification for being Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and members of State assembly and others should have at least Bachelors in any degree but it was ignored.  It shows that education is in shadow.  If leaders are not qualified, how they will be able to lead the society.  Therefore, there It is the place where amendment in constitution must be done. How equality fosters if there is reservation in the name of castes and tribes. I don’t like to see my neighbour or the Nepali citizen as a downtrodden. I want to see all as a blooming flower. In my opinion, the enemies of the human beings are not political dogmas, creeds, castes and geography but are poverty and illiteracy.

If reservation should be given, give to the poor if he/she belongs to Sherpa, Tamang, Brahamin, Kshetry, , Mushhar, Bishwokarma, Himali, Pahadiya or Madheshi.but not to single caste religious group .  There should not be discrimination. If we try to collect data all Brahamins and Kshetries are not well off though most of the time Nepal have been ruled by them. There will be unfair if reservation is given to the called limited downtrodden caste. We can see so many Brahamins and Kshetries are in the street as a labour and have not been able to manage hand to mouth problems. The local or federal or central government should collect the data of the people who are under poverty. The government should create job for them and provide handsome payment for them. On the other hand, illiteracy is the major cause of downtrodden of Nepalese. Let the illiterate one boarding education at free of cost for the illiterate whether he/she is from Himal, Pahad or Terai or from any caste and creed. Let them be competent and let them choose their own occupation as their choice but not as our wish.
The present numbers of Ministers has been the irony of the constitution. The present constitution says that maximum number of the Ministers will be of 25. But now there has been 56.   In the same way, allowance to the past members of representative of the parliament  is being discussed in the house seems to be irrational. They can if nation can afford. Have they made Nepal able to that status? Vehicle facilities to the high ranking government as well as the leaders is irrational too.  In the name of vehicles, there is a huge amount of corruption. It should be stopped. The government should be fair here. Instead of providing vehicle facilities, increase the salary and make them able to be in office of their own expense. A driver drives the vehicle and drops the high ranking officer at his destination but to reach his own destination, he has to go on foot.

The remuneration between the drivers to the high ranking officer is more or less double. How our constitution guarantees equality. A high ranking officer and an office assistant more or less has the same family members to handle.  May the quality is different but the quantity is the same. There must be scheme to minimize the gap of payment.Political parties should have the same concept about nationalism. Political dogmas are more or less like the clothes that we put on. What’s the purpose of the clothes that we put on? Indeed, they save us from cold and hot and shame. The purposes of the clothes that we put on have the same but the colour and design may be of various types. So do of political dogmas. Whatever they believe but their target is to serve Nepal and Nepalese. They cannot go beyond them. Their centre is the people and the soil where they are. They have to nurture them but may have different ways to serve them as everyone has his/her own methods to make vegetable if the ingredients are the same but the method of cooking changes the tastes of cooked vegetables.  Anyway, let them cook as their own way or influence them feeding them with their flavor.
In the same way western concept of secularization has been emerging and the concept of Christianity sprouting in the downtrodden yards.  Churches have been seen in every corner of village and in town. Why it is happening. Karl Marx takes religion as opium but the followers of Marxist in Nepal are diverting their dogmas from Hinduism or Buddhism. Let them follow what they like but control it if they are influenced by the dollars.

Nepalese politicians see the problems in caste but my conscience says they are the glory of nation. A nation looks beautiful if she filled with various flora and faunas. When nation is developed, what she may have to show their future generation. Nepal has everything except the honesty in politics and dedication to their deed. Our Nepal is rich in everything except the government. Natural calamities troubled sometime as disastrous earthquake sometimes as landslides sometimes as flooding but still they are living their life.

Eastern philosophy or myths have to be taught to Nepalese students though they seem to be irrational, superstitious but they are filled with science. Every myth is relevant to the contemporary society.  There is science and source of knowledge. Wright brothers made and flew the plane but in our myths our Gods used to travel in their own aviation. It was written. It is not new discovery but it has already been used. Today scientists should do research on these matters. There are so many other examples.

Let every Nepali live in glory but not in mercy. Let them feel proud being a Nepali. Let it be like the part of human body which no one can give it up or imagine to abandon it. Let it be prosperous by amending its part or article where they discriminate Nepalese in the name of caste, region, religion and other. Let every Nepali live with their own interest rather than vested interest. It can last long  live if some amendments are done.
