Meeting with Dhanajaya Sharma, headteacher of GynodayaSecondary school

Past and present world may be the future too believes - Time is money. Health is money and sometime the quality you possess might be the money too. Yesterday I got a chance to be present in a program organized by Hindu Swoamsevak Sangha, Nepal and the focus of this group is to cultivate the culture to the modern youths. Modern science and technology can do everything but not the culture that we need. Thus everyone has to develop the culture or that is possible reciting the mantra Aum everyday which is the origin of every sound, The word Aum that we recite can change even our feelling after its recitation.

I met Dhanjaya Sharma,the former headteacher of Gynodaya Secondary school , who uplifted the number of students from 275 to 2300 when he left the school. Though he is retired teacher, he is occasionally seen at Gynodaya premises and known as a legendry administrator as well as a successful teacher tha I found in my 27 years of teaching. Yesterday he said to me, "The guardians should provide Culture and traditions to their kids but the school should equip them with the education as mentioned in curriculum and happening around home and abroad. " When he told me I remmbered the essay - School is bad for children written by John Holt. While reading the topic I was negative but after reading the eassy I found it persuasive. Thus something that we do regularly may not know the worth of it but when it is spoken by someone we relaize the worth of it . Dhanjaya Sharma who has become the hero of Commnity School in Nepal said it's possible to change only through the encouragement to all ; even to the failure students, negligence teachers and students. He believes in reward but not in punishment.

He suggests teachers and administrations not to fail the students. The failure students hardly improve if they repeat the same class. Instead of keeping them in the same class let them opportunity to have next exam and ask the reality and how thye can change. If it is applied, even a failure student in an exam can perform better in other exam. This is what I got from him though there were more to convey but I will apply them even in my period too. The future is awaiting for it to change .
