How wise Vashundhara, Sudama's spouse is!

We human beings of this modern era are mostly selfish and think about ourselves and wish for only own progress. But Sudama's wife did not accept Lord Krishna's wish of building Sudama's hut into Palace unless her neighbours' huts changed into the palace. She said how she could remain in the palace leaving her neighbours poor. She added that a single family couldn't remain a single family. It is like a chain and every home is integrated like a tapestry.Her husband used to collect alms from her neighbours and asked if she had not any responsibility. She added that her family was attached to the every sorrow and happiness of the Brindapuri. She questioned why lord Krishna proposed to change only her hut into palace. It would be unfair to the entire human community. She would allow Bishowakarma, heaven's designer to construct Palace as of Krishnna's if he would change all huts of Brindapuri into palaces. Bishowakarma's took the permission from Krishna and changed them into palaces. Later the poor Brindapuri village changed into Sudama's Nagari.

Are there other Vashundhara in our Nepal who could sacrifice every opportunity for own sake? Leaders of present Nepal should learn who Sudama is, who Vasundhara is. Aren't they presented themselves as a supreme couple who didn't wish to enjoy their only own life in luxury. Instead, they changed their enemies as the greatest follower. Even the king who ordered his henchmen to knock him down from his palace wished to make him the king of his kingdom. Sudama didn't accept it and asked him to be the king and accepted to guide him to rule out the nation. Greed leads to the destruction but wisdom leads to the harmony and progress. Every one has to give up personal greed and should know the importance of couple, family, community and nation. Once one of my friends served a very good example how unity works. He said while buying grapes out of bunches cost only Rs 50 per kg but the cost of a kg of grapes in a bunch is Rs 200.Even here shows the importance of unity. We Nepalese need unity rather than arguing against each others' faith and culture. We human beings should present ourselves as supreme beings who can maintain peace and harmony in our society. Let the harmony prevail everywhere. Let the equal opportunity flourish in every corner. Let the reservation end from our society. Let the equality flourish in every sector. Let the discrimination end from our society. Let our nation make a destination for tourists. Let her make the destination for education, travelling and sources of modern technology.

Hindus myths are not only the stories to read. They are the trail to travel to lead the human beings for ages to come. They always guide us to be honest, devotional and generous as Vasundhara is.We feel shame when the spouse of the Ministers and Prime ministers' spouses name come together to the corruption. Don't they know how hateful the property accumulated through illegal ways is?. How it haunts in every second as in every happening? Don't they let know their children what the real life is? I don't see any difference between the past and present rulers. There is only change in the name of the rulers and the system. Systems and the names are not the problems of our backwardness but our feeling and dishonesty are our enemies. Poverty and illiteracy are the enemies of human progress and prosperity. Let the illiteracy eliminate from the earth and let the poverty end from our world. If women like Vasundhara and men like Sudama come to this Nepal. Every dream of Nepalese come true to their life time. They could be no more dream like of Sudama's Nagari.
