It`s because if people believe in gods, there are ghosts too. If I am not wrong no word has meaning in isolation. To be a word meaningful there must be context too. To know the meaning of a word - fat, there must be the word thin too. Even a single person can be a fat one if he is among the thin ones and he can be thin if he is among fat ones. The other matter is that the fear of ghost is inserted in each child`s psychology from the very beginning of his/ her learning. The god is presented as the protecter and the ghost is presented as a destroyer or fear in human psychology. Thus people belueve in ghost too though it is invisible more or less like covid- 19 corona virus. More or less it has terrified the people of the world like the ghost does. Let me share one story that happened in our society. Once while repairing the thatched roof of a house a worker got a pain in his leg and looked around but could not find anything else. He was okay and there was nothing wrong to him. The same worker next year had to repair the roof. While taking out the Khar ( dry grass used to make roof of the houses or huts) from the roof. He found the dead dried snake there. The man died in no time remembering the pain he got while repairing the roof thinking that the pain was caused due to snake`s sting. It is the human psychology that makes us strong and weak. So is the case of god and ghost.
