Power and pelf

2074-04-03

Power and pelf should not be the goal of human beings. Hindus myths believe in salvation. The greed we have is the source of destruction, the sacrifice that we possess is source of progress and the longevity of our performance. The more we sacrifice, the more we achieve. In the end it is like 'Quality speaks for itself'. If we judge the former Prime-minister of Krishna Prasad Bhattrai to others. No one equals to him. His pitcher, trunk and umbrella have left positive attitude to the general people.

Next legendary politician was Ganeshman Singh. His sacrifice of not accepting the Prime -minister of Nepal has challenged to the present political leaders that politics should not be only for the achievement of Minister and Prime -Minister but it should be for the public. Their heights in politics of the world would be memorable for the future generation too. Hindus myths show that the property that we achieve illegally can fulfill our daily needs but can't give us satisfaction. It weakens us. We know the reality of the amount that we possess. Illegally achieved money is worthless. If we perform various yngas or pujas they are worthless. But devotion with empty hand taking the names of gods or goddesses or the recitation of various bija mantra or others help us gain supreme consciousness. In the same way, Dalai Lama once thought when he was a guest in the west in a big castle with affluent services, good behaviour , politeness in speaking that the source of happiness is the wealth that human beings have. But it could not last in his psyche when he went to the toilet of the same building and see sleeping peels. it shows that the property can buy what we need but it can't buy our sleeps.

Present decision of Kathmandu metro politician city to collect parking charges seems to be ambiguous. The parking charge for a bike for an hour is Rs 15-20 seems irrational. When a person who has to reach somewhere and parks his/her like has to spend huge amount only for parking charges.Local government should not be like 'a drop in the ocean'. It must be the heart beat of the city dwellers. It's just an example. Before collecting tax from public, the concerned authority should pay what the result may be. Is it fair or not? Riding motor cycle is not the public interest it is their compulsion. If the city can run city buses or other means, it will be easier for them. The activities of the local government should not be like 'end in smoke'. It should work for the welfare of all.
